Depart a Litchfield Hills Connecticut Hotel.

10:30 a.m.

Arrive at the Danbury Railway Museum for an informative presentation and tour of the railyard, which includes viewing the collection of rail cars and engines. Browse the gift shop with time for questions and answers.

11:30 a.m.

Depart for Danbury Fair Mall.

11:45 a.m.

Take a ride on the famous Danbury Fair Carousel, with some time out to eat in the food court and do some quick shopping.

1:30 p.m.

Depart for The Railroad Museum of New England/Naugatuck Railroad

3 p.m.

Board the historic "Naugy" in Thomaston and ride the rails along the Naugatuck River, up and over the scenic Thomaston Dam. Uniform clad conductors will recount the history of the restored trains and the region.

4:30 p.m.

Travel to Bristol to tour the New England Carousel Museum. Arrive in about 45 minutes. View the beautifully crafted painted ponies and learn about the different styles and designers. Enjoy light refreshments before your journey home.

6 p.m.

Spend your evening at Lake Compounce, the oldest continuous running amusement park in America with Boulder Dash, # 1 wooden roller coaster in the country and the historic wildcat roller coaster that has thrilled young and old alike since 1927.  Enjoy a catered dinner in a private pavilion nestled beside the lake.  Don't miss a ride on the historic carousel built in 1898 and moved to Lake Compounce in 1911.  This is one of America's oldest carousels.
