Brews & BBQ is back! Come out on Saturday, July 22nd at Ives Concert Park in Danbury to celebrate the change of the seasons with the ultimate spring bash featuring BBQ, craft beer and live music from Spin Doctors! Gates open at 3pm and the event runs until 9pm. Advance tickets are $15. Tickets at the door are $20. You think you know the Spin Doctors. Think again. When the legendary New York quartet release "If The River Was Whiskey" on May 14th through Ruf Records, casual fans will discover the secret past the hardcore have never forgotten. To the wider world, the Doctors might be the multi-million-selling icons behind hits like Two Princes and Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, not to mention the classic Pocket Full Of Kryptonite. But in 2013, Chris Barron (vocals), Aaron Comess (drums), Eric Schenkman (guitar) and Mark White (bass) are reconnecting with the flat-broke twenty-somethings who scraped for dollars at the sharp end of the Big Apple blues circuit. The Spin Doctors have come full-circle.

Brookfield Historical Society American Military Forum - Children of the WarMuseum Exhibit Honors Fallen Brookfield Military Heroes

05/21/2017 to 06/04/2017

165 Whisconier Road , Brookfield, CT

Every Saturday from noon - 4 p.m. with extended hours on Sunday, May 24 (Brookfield's Memorial Day Celebration). The Exhibit will open on Saturday at noon in the Museum located at 165 Whisconier Road, (intersection of Routes 25 and 133) in Brookfield Center. It will continue each Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. through June 4th and will also be open during the Brookfield's Memorial Day parade on Sunday, May 29. Each year we pay tribute to Brookfield's fallen military heroes but until recently, little was known about who they actually are. We have now been able to identify 44 former Brookfield residents who gave their lives, on the alter of freedom, in defense of our nation. This exhibit provides our community the opportunity to gain a more intimate understanding of the courageous servicemen we honor. It not only contains the names of the fallen, but also background information, where available, on both their civilian and military lives as well as poignant images and photographs. It is a moving tribute to these men who have made so grave a sacrifice for our community and our nation.

Rock of Ages

05/22/2017 to 06/19/2017

158 Main St. , Thomaston, CT 06787. Phone: 860-283-6250.

In collaboration with the Phoenix Theater Company of Bristol, LCT presents the rock/jukebox musical ROCK OF AGES to the Thomaston Opera House main stage.

It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes. But the rock and roll fairy-tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip–and themselves–before it's too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more hold the answer.
